  of the Triassic Period and their shell is very characteristic in bearing aculte or tricarinate
 keeled venter and ear like elevated umbilical edge.  They are variable in form and many
 types transitional between the Araxoceratidae and Otoceratidae to Otoceras s. str. have
 been reported.  They have been recorded from the Lower Triassic of Spiti in the
 Himalayas, East Greenland, East Siberia, Julfa (Dzhulfa) and from Alaska.
