Among the highly fossiliferous outcrops of late Einsian and Eifelian sediments in the Tafilalt (eastern Anti-Atlas, Morocco),
those at the lebel Ouaoufilal deserve special attention because of the abundance of well preserved ammonoids which
often have remains of the shell.  From the two sections Jebel Ouaoufilal West and East. 269 ammonoid specimens which
belong to 34 speeies were collected in situ.  They allow separation of eight succeeding distinctive ammonoid faunas of
late Emsian and Eifelian age.  Three shaly to marly intervals in the Eifelian deposits of these sections were correlated with
global transgressions: The Chotec Event level, the Id Event level and the Kacák Event level.
