Abstract. - The upper part of the Beaulieu Formation (Pâtures Member, Unit d) of the Boulonnais yielded some new
goniatites identified as Carinoceras cf. galeatum (Wedekind) and Manticoceras cf. cordatum (Sandberger & Sandberger).
Based on syntypes and new carinoceratid material from various regions, the first species is revised.  Together with
previous conodont data, the new faunule indicates a regional deepening episode in early middle Frasnian time (upper
UD 1-F or lower I-G, MN 6/7 conodont Zone) which may correlate with the global transgressive Basal Rhinestreet Event.
The base of the Hydrequent Formation, which fomerly yielded goniatites, possibly coincided with the global semichatovae
      Transgression.
