These are the reports of the first finds of ammonoids in the middle part of the munugusk formation of the Cisuralian at the northwest shore of the Kotelyi ostrov (new Siberian Islands). The precision of the age of the investigated layers was improved by an analysis of the biogeographic distribution of the taxa of ammnoids and other marine fossils. The two Permian ammonoid species Preshumardites bogoslovskyi Andrianov and Tabantalites etchiensis Adrianov are described from the Kotel'nyi Sakmarian.
