The Upper Emsian up to the Frasnian stage of the palentine facies
 realm of the Cantabrian Mountains is investigated biostratigraphic-
 ally mainly using conodonts, dacryoconarids and goniatites.  The
 sequence of Palencia is correlated with the sequence of  the Eifel
 Mountains, the Ardennes, the Barrandian, León, the Celtiberian Chains
 and the Rade de Brest/France.  The faunal and lithologic data are
 also interpreted with regards to facies.
