Eothalassoceras aurorale Gordon, 1957 (junior synonym of Eothalassoceras inexpectans Miller & Owen, 1937) was based

on Pennsylvanian specimens from the Seminole Formation of eastern Oklahoma that were erroneously mixed with the

Viséan ammonoids from Alaska (see Gordon, 1965).
