Type species: Beyrichoceratoides castletonensis Bisat, 1924, p. 92 [OD].

A:   Conch form discoidal to thick-discoidal; umbilicus moderately wide to narrow., continuously opening.
B:   Ornamentation: concavo-convex growth lines consisting of non-crenulate biconvex transverse striae, which are in some        species relatively strong.
C:   Simple transverse ribs in juveniles, not persisting onto adolescence.
D:   Constrictions  present.
F:   No spiral ornamentation.
G:   Ventral lobe with V-shaped, very low median saddle and rather narrow, at its base as in Muensteroceras; its sides are
subparallel in the apicad half, diverging orad. Tips of branches of ventral lobe not diverging. First lateral saddle
broadly rounded. Adventitious lobe symmetrical and wide, with more or less sinuous sides including a broad angle,
lying about in line with basis of ventral lobe.

Closely related to Bollandoceras, discussion see Korn & Tilsley, 2006, p.119. Bollandoceras is transitional to Bollandites, apparently within the range of variability.
