Type species. Pachyclymenia abeli Schindewolf, 1937, p. 65 [OD].

A:   Conch form lenticular; narrow umbilicus.
B:   Growth lines biconvex.
C:   No ribs.
D:   No constrictions or internal shell thickenings.
G:   Suture line with shallow, rounded ventral lobe; lateral lobe deeply rounded, small umbilical lobe and internal lobe.

Fig. TAX4090 A: P. intermedia, B: P. sinuconstricta (sutures); C: P. intermedia, P. sinuconstricta (cross-sections).

[BOGOSLOVSKIY 1981, p.56: Conch dicoidal, more or less thick, averagely involute; umbilicus moderately wide.
Whorls more or less wide, lateral sides flattened and weakly convex, venter widely rounded.  Shell surface smooth,
covered by thin, hardly noticable growth lines, which form a slight sinus on the lateral side and a wide, more or less
deep, rounded sinus on the ventral side.  Wide, frequent constrictions can be observed on inner whorls, more
distinctly on the ventral side.  Ventral lobe wide but not deep, rounded.  Umbilical looe relatively small, rounded;
inner lateral lobe small to embryonic, located on the inner side;  dorsal lobe deep and wide, funnel shaped.]
