Type species: Clymenia spinosa Münster, 1842, p.122 [OD].

A:   Conch form discoidal; venter broadly rounded or flattened; flanks convex or flattened; umbilicus wide.
B:   Fine growth lines with rectiradiate or prorsiradiate direction, with concave-convex course; ventrolateral salient as
long as wide; deep external sinus.
C:   10 to 20 simple, sharp ribs on flanks, continuing into ventrolateral parabolic spines. Course of ribs differs from that
of growth lines with retroverse parabolic ears or spines.
D:   No constrictions.
G:   Suture line with symmetric, shallowly rounded lateral lobe.
