1991  Kalajilagites Liang & Wang: 96.

Type species: Kalajilagites stenolobus Liang & Wang, 1991, p.96 [OD].

A:   Conch subdiscoidal to subglobular, with narrow umbilicus.
G:   Ventrolateral saddle relatively narrow, subacute.

[Only type species known]. Genus insufficiently known.

[Liang & Wang. 1991, p. 96.]: Shell moderately large, subglobose, convolute. Venter broadly and slightly  flattened.
Lateral side rather wide, slightly convex. Surface reticulate formed by dense, fine, longitudinal striations and growth
lines. Suture line goniatitic, with long and narrow ventral lobe and slightly parallel sides, prongs of ventral lobe narrow
and long, slightly convex. Lateral lobe long and acute, umbilical lobe funnel-shaped, ventral saddle high and narrow.

Kalajilagites differs from Goniatites chiefly in that the venter of its conch is slightly flattened, the umbilicus wider and
deeper, with angular umbilical shoulder in the former, and ventral lobe long, with slightly parallel sides, lateral lobe
narrow and long. Sides of ventral lobe in upper part divergent.
