Type species: Caenolyroceras subgloboide Ruzhentsev & Bogoslovskaya, 1971, p.278 [OD].

A:   Like Lyrogoniatites, but with very wide umbilicus on early whorls and later moderately wide umbilicus.
B:   Ornamentation consisting of 35 - 55 strong spiral lirae and faint, weakly biconvex growth lines.
D:   Constrictions may be present.

[Ruzhentsev & Bogoslovskaia, 1971, p.278: Conch from subsphaericone to pachycone.  Whorls
very involute.  Umbilicus moderately tight and stair-like.  52-55 Lirae on the whole outer
surface and extremely thin growth lines are present, forming a slight ventral sinus.  
Constrictions are absent.  Ventral lobe quite narrow, with more or less parting sides.  
Height of medial saddle is three times smaller then the whole lobe.
