Type species: Fayettevillea (Parafayettevillea) serpentina Yang, 1986, p.268 [OD].

A:   Conch of first whorls (up to fourth) planorbiform, with semilunar cross-section similar Fayettevillea, later growth stages show an increasing whorl width. Umbilicus extremely wide in young stages, moderately wide or almost involute on adult stages.
G:   Ventral lobe moderately wide, with roundedly diverging sides. Adventitious lobe symmetric, deep and subacute or pointed.

[Type species apparently based on poorly preserved juvenile specimens suggesting phylogenetic relationship to Fayettevillea  on early stages. Meeks & Manger, 1999, p.147: Type material of the several species of Parafayettevillea is all immature and the genus is probably not recognizable at larger diameters].
