[Zhao et al., 1978]: Shell small to moderately large, convolute,
thickly discoidal or lenticular with wide, tabulate or fastigate
venter, ornamented with kell or tricarinate. Whorl section high,
helmet-shaped or roughly triangular in outline. Lateral sides
slightly concave. Umbilicus usually deep with highly flared and
ear-like rims. Suture line ceratitic, with the serrations of the
lateral lobe divided or tend to divide into two parts.
