   Diagnosis.-Shell small to intermediate in size, subglobular or thickly discoidal, involute.  
Venter rounded and flanks convex. Umbilicus very small, umbilical shoulders rounded. ,
 Surface usually marked by weak constrictions and inconspicuous longitudinallirae
in early whorls, and characterized by coarse transverse ribs at maturity.  Ribs are
bifurcate or rarely trifurcate, with intercalations across ventrolateral shoulder that forrm a
broad and shallowventral sinus.  Siphuncle proportionally large, retrochoanitic, ven-
tral-marginal in first whorl but then migrating rapidly into dorsalseptal flexure.  
Entire length of external suture irregularly serrate. Ventral lobe entire, with fingered
or furcate base and serrated flanks, but without medial saddle.  Lateral lobe broad and deeply
furcate.  Internal suture goniatitic, with deep narrow dorsal andlateral lobes separated by
broad high saddle.
