Type species: Uraloceras serpentinum Maksimova, 1948, p.23; OD.

Fig. TAX5267 A: S. primore, B: S. tenue, C: Juresanites intermedius, E: Eoasianites vodorezovi (sutures, from
Bogoslovskaia et al. 1995, fig.11).

[Ruzhentsev, 1974, p.23:] Small ophioconic shell. Whorls moderately evolute. Umbilicus between very and
moderately broad, step-like in all stages. Sculpture delicate, reticulate, with transverse lines predominating
over lirae. Numerous plicae developed along umbilical border (> 100 per whorl). Constrictions present, deep
along sides and weak on periphery. The transverse lines and constrictions form a ventral projection. Ventral lobe
not very broad (wl/hl ~1), with narrow, very weakly pointed branches; median saddle of average height
(hs/hl ~ 0.6). Lateral lobe shorter than ventral lobe, primitive.- Distinguished from Paragastrioceras and
Uraloceras by small shell and narrow whorls, broader umbilicus, numerous weakly developed adumbilical plicae
and weakly developed sculpture and primitive nature of suture. Transverse lines more clearly expressed in
Svetlanoceras, lirae in Paragastrioceras and Uraloceras.
