First revising author of genus and type species: Popov, 1965, p.70,
Type species: Yakutoceras aldanicum Librovitch, 1947, [nom. nud.] . = Yakutoceras aldanicum Popov, 1965, p.71 [OD].

[ = Mezorulganites ANDRIANOV, 1985, p.27, type M. borealis, p.27, OD (subj.)].

A:   Conch form subdiscoidal to subglobular, moderately evolute, with moderately wide umbilicus.
F:   Longitudinal ornamentation present.
D:   Constrictions on immature stages.

[Transitional to Orulganites, maybe its junior synonym. The name was proposed by LIBROVICH, 1947, p.64, without
sufficient description and indication of type species; formal description and type species by POPOV, 1965, p.70.
For discussion see RUZHENTSEV & GANELIN, 1971, p.57]. Aldanites is erected for species with normal
(not triangular) coiling of inner whorls, a character not regarded herein as of specific or generic significance
(compare Family Goniatitidae). Mezorulganites differs slightly in its suture].
