[Protimanites Liashenko, 1956, p.90: Conch lenticular, involute.  Growth-lines biconvex. In the number of elements, the lobe line is transitional between Koenenites and Timanites.  It consists of an outer and two lateral lobes, a median saddle, an outer, lateral and half of an umbilical lobe, which is lacking in Koenenites and is fully developed in Timanites.  Inner suture line is characterized by presence of one lateral lobe, as opposed to two in Timenites. Protimanites also differs from Timanites by having an umbilicus.]
