Type species: Gastrioceras venatum Girty, 1911, p.149 [OD].

A: Conch very small, subdiscoidal to subglobular, involute already on early whorls; umbilicus relatively wide.
B: Growth lines biconvex.
C: Umbilical shoulder nodose, sometimes extending as low ridges toward ventral side.
E: Ventral furrow may be present.
G: Suture-line primitive: lobes and saddles rounded, even at their basis; median saddle relatively high.

[Holotype does not show ventral furrow. Relationship uncertain, maybe immature forms of a larger genus. For
discussion see UNKLESBAY, 1962, p.64. Assignment to Wiedeyoceratidae questionable.]
