1994 Chlupacites Becker & House: 93.
2002 Chlupacites.-Korn & Klug: 75.

Type species: Agoniatites (Agoniatites) praeceps Chlupác & Turek, 1983, p.38 [OD].

E: No ventrolateral furrows
G: Widely V-shaped and pointed dorsal lobes.

Intermediate between Agoniatitids and Anarcestids.

From Becker & House (1994): "In contrast to typical agoniatitids the two earliest known species of the upper Emsian with imperforate umbilicus, Agon. praecepsand Agon. uralensis Bogoslovsky (1969), still have mimagoniatitid-like,widely v-shaped and pointed dorsal lobes and lack ventrolateral furrows which are developed in many Agoniatites and especially in Fidelites.

The latter genus is also distinguished by its narrow umbilicus, very compressed whorl form and often flattened flanks andventer as in Foordites".
