A: Conch form similar Syngastrioceras, but more involute, with moderately wide umbilicus.
G: Prongs of ventral lobe moderately pouched, median saddle exceeding slightly half the height of entire ventral lobe.
Ventrolateral saddle broadly rounded, first lateral lobe lanceolate or bell-shaped.

[Ruzhencev, 1975, p.41]: Shell subspheroconic. Whorls highly involute. Umbilicus narrow, lacking helicolateral deposits.
Sculpture transverse, very weak. Ventral lobe fairly broad, but wl/hl< 1.00.
Very similar in the shape of the shell and the outline of the suture to Clistoceras, from which it is distinguished by the open umbilicus.
