Type species: Bogdanoceras bifurcum Ruzhentsev & Bogoslovskaia, 1971, p. 30 [OD].

A:   Conch form subdiscoidal, "calyx" stage distinct. Later whorls involute, umbilicus moderately narrow.
B:   Sculpture consisting of coarse ribs dichotomizing on the middle of flanks, forming ventral sinus. Two intraventral ridges
developed in intermediate ontogenetic stages. Longitudinal elongate tubercles on umbilical shoulder.

[Only type species known. Type material consisting of two poorly preserved specimens].

[Ruzhentsev & Bogoslovskaia, 1971, p. 30]: Shell of young specimens subcadiconic, with sharp umbilical shoulder, adult
shell pachyconic or subdicoconic; distinct calyx stage. Whorls highly involute. Umbilicus of average size. Sculpture
consists of coarse ribs dichotomizing far from umbilical shoulder and forming a well-expressed ventral sinus. Umbilical
shoulder adorned with longitudinally elongate tubercles. 2 intraventral ridges developed in middle stages of
morphogenesis. Ventral lobe fairly broad ( wl/hl= 1.10). First outer saddle curved.Distinguished from all genera of the
family by the coarse transverse sculpure (dichotomizing ribs) and from most by the two intraventral ridges.

[Ruzhentsev et Bogoslovskaya, 1978, p.218: Conch subcadicone in youth, with a sharp umbilical rim;  calyx stage distinct.  With progressing growth, conch becomes pachycone, with very involute whorls and a medium sized umbilicus.  Sculpture coarse, radial, represented by ribs, which dichotome far from the umbilical rim and form a well developed ventral sinus.  Umbilical rim ornamented with elongated protuberances.  In intermediate growth stages there are two intraventral keels.  Ventral lobe quite wide (w/h = 1.10).  First lateral saddle bent.]
