Type species: Brevikites inops Ruzhentsev & Bogoslovskaia, 1975, p.51 [OD].

A:   Conch form subdiscoidal, with tendency to oxycone venter; moderately involute.
C:   Early whorls with umbilical tubercles, later wrinkles, giving rise to dichotomous riblets; intercalated ribs present.
Riblets form narrow ventral sinus.
D:   Several constrictions per whorl.
F:   Weak longitudinal lirae present.
G:   Ventral lobe relatively narrow, almost parallel-sided, with very low median saddle. Adventitious lobe subacute or rounded.

[Ruzhentsev et Bogoslovskaya, 1978, p.226: Conch small, suboxycone.  Whorls moderately involute.  Umbilicus moderately wide to middle sized.  Young individuals posess umbilical protuberances, which weaken with age.  Regularly dichotoming ribs start from the protuberances, or folds which replace them.  In addition, single ribs appear between the protuberances.  Ribs form a deep sinus, thin at the base.  Radial sculpture distinct on steinkern.  Lirae present, but very weakly developed.  Ventral lobe not very wide and sometimes even thin (w/h = 0.85 - 0.55).  Median saddle very low (saddle height / lobe height = 0.20).]
