Type species: Decorites crassicostatus Ruzhentsev & Bogoslovskaya, 1975, p.48 [OD].

A:   Conch form subdiscoidal, rather involute; umbilicus narrow.
C:   Umbilical tubercles present on immature stages. Strong dichotomous ribs, starting at elongated tubercles crossing flanks
and venter with shallow ventrolateral salient and ventral sinus.

[Ruzhentsev & Bogoslovskaia, 1975, p. 48]:  Shell subdiscoconic. Whorls completely involute. Umbilicus narrow. Umbilical tubercles that disappear rapidly may be present on young shells. Regularly dichotomizing costellae extend from the tubercles
or the plications replacing them. They are noticeably deflected forward from the umbilical shoulder. Lirae wanting. Ventral
lobe not very broad (wl/hl~ 0.90). Median saddle not very high (hs/hl = 0.50- 0.60).

[Ruzhentsev et Bogoslovskaya, 1978, p.222: Conch not large, subdiscoidal.  Whorls completely involute.  Umbilicus tight.  There may be rapidly disappearing umbilical protuberances in young specimens.  Dichotoming ribs start from the protuberances or from the folds which replace them.  Ribs form a ventral sinus, which becomes stronger with age, and are distinctly slanted foreward, beginning from the umbilical rim.  Lirae absent.  Lateral lobe not very wide (w/h approx. 0.90).  Median saddle is not very high (saddle height/lobe height = 0.50 - 0.60).]
