Type species: Aravanites kirgizstanicus Zakharov,1971, p.93 [OD].

Diagnosis: Conch small, involute. Umbilicus moderately wide. External ornamentation absent. Three constrictions
per whorl. Suture with relatively broad ventral lobe with subparallel sides and subacute prongs.- More compressed
involute whorls and broader ventral lobe than Tympanoceras, it differs in narrower conch, smooth shell surface and
broader ventral lobe from Cravenoceras.

A:   Conch subdiscoidal, with rounded venter. Flanks slightly flattened. Umbilicus moderately narrow.
D:   3 constrictions/whorl, straight.
G:   V broad, low median saddle (0.46 of V depth). First lateral saddle broad, rounded, lateral lobe subacute.
