Type species: Lianyuanoceras shenjiachongense Zhou, 1985, p.187; OD.

[Zhou, 1985, p.187: Shell involute, discoidal, with arched venter and slightly convex lateral sides. Surface marked
with fine growth lines and longitudinal lirae in early stage, and with coarse ribs and weak longitudinal lirae in late
stage; coarse ribs converging and forming tubercles near umbilical margin. Constrictions marked with a V-shaped
sinus on the venter. Suture goniatitic, similar to that of Neoagenides. The present genus is similar in the suture to
other genera of the Shouchangoceratidae; but it can be distinguished from Neoganides and Shouchangoceras
by the coarser ribs in late stage and from Shangraoceras by the arched ribs and the tubercles near the
umbilical margin. The new genus resembles Pseudohalorites in the shape of shell and the sculptures, but in the
latter the external lobes of the suture is serrated at the base.
