Type species: Lingzhouceras ornatum Sheng, 1988, p.131; OD.

[Sheng, 1988, p.141: Shell rather small, involute-subinvolute, subglobose to thick discoidal. Whorls low, umbilicus rather
wide. Surface ornamented with fine reticulate sculpture, no constrictions.

Goniatitic suture. The ventral lobe is divided by a median saddle into two small angular lateral branches. External suture
between the outer saddle and umbilical edge with two lateral lobes, one umbilical lobe (?). The lateral lobe is not
contracted in the upper portion and subtriangular shaped with acute rounded at its base. All the lobes and saddles are
built in "V" or "V (upside down)" shape at the flanks. The internal suture is unknown.]
