Type species: Kushanites kirgizorum Ruzhentsev & Bogoslovskaia,1975, p.50 (OD).

A:   Conch form subdiscoidal, umbilicus moderately wide.
C:   Sculpture with prominent dichotomous ribs, crossing venter with a very shallow sinus, ending in wrinkles near umbilical
       wall.
D-F:  No spiral ornamentation. Several narrow and deep constrictions per whorl.
G:   Suture-line primitive, with rounded lobes and saddles, ventral lobe being narrow, with very low median saddle. One
       species, from one locality.

[Ruzhentsev & Bogoslovskaia, 1975, p. 50]: Shell subophioconic, with highly involute whorls. Umbilicus medium size.
Sculpture consisting af adumbilical plicae, from which dichotomizing costellae extend. The plicae disappear with age,
and the costellae become finer and dichotomize less regularly. They form a weak ventral sinus. Lirae wanting. Deep
constrictions present. Ventral lobe fairly narrow (wl/hl ~ 0.80). Median saddle very low (hs/hl ~ 0.30).Clearly
distinguished from Decorites by the shape of the shell, the stepped umbilicus, the less developed ventral sinus, the
existence of constrictions and a far more primitive suture.

[Ruzhentsev et Bogoslovskaya, 1978, p.225: Conch not large, subophiocone.  Whorls very involute.  Umbilicus of middle size.  Sculpture is represented by preumbilical folds, from which dichotoming ribs start.  Folds disappear with age and the ribs dichotome (or intercalate) less regularly.  They form a slight ventral sinus and proceed radially to the umbilical rim.  Lirae absent.  Constrictions thin but deep.  Ventral lobe quite thin (w/h approx. 0.80).  Median saddle very low (saddle height / lobe height approx. 0.30).]
