1991  Dzhaprakoceras (Akeshakeceras) Liang & Wang: 80.
     1996  Dzhaprakoceras (Akeshakoceras) [sic].-Riley: 51 [D. (A.) longilobatum does not belong to D., is not a
               muensteroceratid].

Type species: Dzhaprakoceras (Akeshakeceras) longilobatum Liang & Wang, 1991, p.81 [OD].

G:   Ventral lobe rather narrow, with narrow prongs; ventrolateral saddle narrow (seemingly acute !). Adventitious lobe relatively narrow and as long as ventral lobe.

[Liang & Wang, 1991, p. 80]: Shell moderately large, subglobose, involute, with wide and round venter. Lateral sides
rather wide and convex. Whorl section crescent-shaped. Surface marked by fine growth lines. Umbilicus narrow, rather
deep with subangular shoulders, usually with fine longitidinal striations. Ventral lobe narrow and long, middle part
inflated, median saddle about 1/3--1/4 the hight of the ventral lobe. Prongs of ventral lobe narrow and long. External
saddle narrow and high. Lateral lobe longer than ventral lobe, asymmetric. First lateral saddle wide and round, umbilical
lobe acute.
The new Subgenus is distinguished from D. (Dzhaprakoceras) in that the former has a subglobose conch, with longer
and narrower ventral prongs than the latter. Also the external saddle and lateral lobe of D. (Akeshakeceras) are narrower.

The type species of Akeshakeceras does not belong to the superfamily Pericycloidea; the holotype shows spiral ornamentation and an acute lateral saddle and belongs to a goniatitid group (teste Riley, 1996, p.51).
