[Kuzina, 1999, p. 96: The shell is small from semi-spherical to thickly discoidal, with involute whorls in adults.The umbilicus ranges from narrow to moderately wide. The ornament in juvenils consists of biconvex lamellae. In adults lamella form

only a ventral sinus. The ventral lobe is narrow, slightly constricted at the top, with a relatively high median saddle.
Gorboviceras differs from other genera in the family in the small shell, biconvex lamellae in juveniles, and in the narrow
ventral lobe constricted at the top.].
