2000 Eosyngastrioceras Titus: 38.
2001 Eosyngastrioceras.-Titus & Manger: 18.

Type species: Eosyngastrioceras quadratum Titus, 2000, p.39 [OD].

A: Conch form pachycone to cadiconic.
B: Mildly sinuous growth lines, bearing single prominent spiral cord on the umbilical shoulder.
G: Ventral lobe moderately wide, with moderately high median saddle (about three quarters of the entire height), and
moderately wide, pointed subparallel prongs. Lobes slightly constricted to non-constricted at the base.

[Titus regards Eosyngastrioceras (as well as Syngastrioceras) as belonging to the Neoicoceratidae forming the root group of Neoicoceratids.]

After Titus, 2000 (modified): Differs from Glaphyrites in the absence of multiple fine lirae around the umbilical shoulder in earlier growth stages in Glaphyrites. Differs from Emstites in a lower median saddle. Differs from Syngastrioceras in the narrower ventral lobe and less inflated ventral prongs, which do not diverge. Less constricted bases of the lobes than in Syngastrioceras. Ventral lobe wider than in Cravenoceras.
