Type species: Weyeroceras angustum Klug, 2001, p.511 [OD].

Klug, 2001, p.511: Oxyconic conch of moderately large to large size, thinly discoidal with a narrow umbilicus; with a distinct imprint zone. Whorl cross section narrow with flattened flanks and acute venter. Adult whorl with very high whorl expansion rate (> 3.5 at dm > 100 mm). Suture line with a small external lobe, a small and flat adjacent saddle, a moderately large parabolic ventrolateral lobe, next to it a slightly larger saddle of a similar shape followed by a large broadly rounded lateral lobe.

Comparisons (Klug, 2001, p.511): In contrast to the genera Augurites BOGOSLOVSKY 1961 and Celaeceras HYATT 1884 (Family Auguritidae BOGOSLOVSKY 1961), Weyeroceras KLUG 2001 has one lobe and one saddle less in the ventrolateral part of the suture line. It differs from Parentites BOGOSLOVSKY 1961 and Kimoceras BOGOSLOVSKY 1980 (Subfamily Parentitinae BOGOSLOVSKY 1980) in having a ventrolateral lobe. The ventral portion of the suture line of Gaurites resembles the course of the suture line of Weyeroceras. However, Gaurites displays a small lobe on the flank near the umbilicus which is absent in Weyeroceras. Weyeroceras lacks the steep umbilical walls which are present in the Parentitidae, Celaeceras, and Augurites. In this respect, it resembles the genus Gaurites. However, the extrapolated whorl width of Weyeroceras is higher than the whorl width of adult representatives of other genera of the Auguritidae and the Parentitinae.
