Type species: Imitoceras multisulcatum Vöhringer, 1960, p.141 [OD].

A  Conch form: lenticular to pachycone, venter rounded. Early ontogenetic stages evolute; middle and adult stages with narrow umbilicus. Apertural height is low.
B  Growth lines mostly fine and linear.
D  Constrictions variable or missing.
G  Suture usually with parallel-sided ventral lobe, deep, relatively narrow. Adventitious lobe equally deep.

Genus definition: Genus of the subfamily Acutimitoceratinae with low aperture (WER 1.50).  Closure of the umbilicus in the adult stage by a significant overlap of the flanks. Suture line with equally deep external and adventive lobes.

Proposed genus transitional between Acutimitoceras and Paragattendorfia, regarded herein as a synonym of Acutimitoceras (Stockumites).
