1. Strongly compressed, applanate whorl cross section (ww/wh = 0.62 at 65 dm mm );

2. Suture with small V-shaped external lobe; three lobes on the flanks with a

steeper ventral side and a curved dorsal side.

M. merocanites is distinguished by the strongly asymmetric two outer lobes on the flank (adventive lobe and first lateral lobe).
