Typ.Genus: Cyrtoclymenia Hyatt, 1884, p.313.

Superfamily Cyrtoclymeniaceae Hyatt,1884:

A:   Conch form in general broadly discoidal, moderately involute and narrow umbilicate, increasing quickly in height.
B:   Growth lines with prominent broad ventrolateral salient.
G:   Suture relatively simple, consisting of a broad ventral saddle, a rounded or pointed lateral lobe and a deep dorsal
lobe; advanced genera with an adventitious and an umbilical lobe. Some forms with a broadly rounded median lobe
in the ventral saddle, presumably a secondary feature developed in later ontogenetic stages. [This lobe in ventral
position is not regarded herein as homologous with the primary ventral lobe in the suborder Gonioclymeniina]. Basic
sutural formula: [Germ.] LI, [Russ.] U:D].
